You sat down. Closed your eyes. Focused on your breath. And within thirty seconds your mind felt busier than ever.
My mind got busier.
I felt more anxious.
I kept wondering if I was doing it right.
I couldn't stop checking how I felt.
If that's been your experience, you're not alone.
Many anxious people don't struggle with mindfulness because they're doing it wrong. They struggle because nobody ever translated mindfulness into the language of anxiety.
Most mindfulness teachings were never designed specifically for people dealing with panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, health anxiety, DPDR, overthinking, or chronic worry. And yet many of the attitudes that support anxiety recovery are mindfulness attitudes.
DARE teaches us how to respond to anxiety.
Mindfulness teaches us how to relate to anxiety.
This course brings those two worlds together.
This isn't about becoming perfectly calm. It's about developing a different relationship with anxiety and with yourself.
This is not mindfulness as a relaxation technique. And it's not mindfulness as another self-improvement project. Every teaching, meditation, and discussion is designed for people who understand what it's like to:

Yes. Many people join this course because mindfulness never really clicked for them in the past. A major focus of this course is helping you understand mindfulness through the lens of anxiety recovery.
This is more common than many people realize. We'll explore how to work skillfully with anxiety when it arises during practice and how to approach meditation in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.
No. Whether you're completely new to mindfulness or have practiced for years, you'll be able to benefit from the course.
A busy mind is not a problem. The goal isn't to eliminate thoughts. The practice is learning a different relationship with the thoughts that are already there.
DARE teaches how to respond to anxiety. This course focuses on cultivating the deeper attitudes that support that response: acceptance, trust, patience, non-judgment, self-compassion, and letting go.
Every session will be recorded and available for replay so you can participate at your own pace.
If you've ever felt that mindfulness should help but somehow never quite connected for you... if you've longed to feel more at home within yourself... if you'd like to deepen the attitudes that sit at the heart of DARE recovery — we'd love to welcome you.
